FLS SUPERVISOR TOOLS

Supervisor Self-Assessment

Rate the habits your team sees, then choose a behavior you can improve on the next shift.

Your intention to be a good supervisor matters. Your daily behavior is what employees experience. The FLS Supervisor Self-Assessment helps you compare the two and identify a practical development priority.

Review six areas of leadership

The five-page fillable PDF uses a one-to-five rating scale with space for evidence behind your scores. The six categories cover:

The prompts ask about behavior you can observe: explaining a standard, following through, checking facts, developing employees, coordinating handoffs, staying composed, and accepting feedback.

Choose a change you can practice

Use recent examples to support your ratings. A lower score gives you something to work on. The score summary and improvement sections help you select a priority, define the behavior you will practice, and decide what evidence would show progress.

Return to the assessment after you have had time to apply the change. Compare your examples as well as your scores. You should be able to describe what you did differently and what your team experienced.

Connect reflection to promotion preparation

The assessment can help you identify strengths and honest growth areas before a promotion interview. Pair it with the Promotion Interview Prep Sheet to organize examples you can explain to a panel.

Both tools are included in the Promotion Ready Pack. The assessment is also part of the New Supervisor Starter Pack.
