People issues become harder to manage when the conversation starts before the supervisor has organized the facts. The FLS Conversations and Documentation Pack brings five tools together for preparation, listening, review, and follow-through.
Five tools included in the download
- Before You Counsel an Employee: prepare facts, the applicable standard, and the next step before a counseling meeting.
- Difficult Conversation Planner: organize a direct message, useful questions, and the follow-up.
- Report Review and Editing Tool: check completeness, identities, evidence, sequence, wording, and required corrections.
- Employee Check-In Sheet: discuss strengths, obstacles, support needs, and commitments before a problem drives the meeting.
- End-of-Shift Leadership Debrief: close open items, review leadership decisions, and prepare the next-shift handoff.
Use the tool that fits the purpose
A routine check-in, a counseling conversation, and an incident-report review have different purposes. Choose the worksheet that fits the actual work and explain that purpose clearly to the employee.
Write specific observations and expectations. Give commitments an owner and a check-back date. If the situation requires a formal disciplinary, investigative, or other agency procedure, follow that process and its documentation requirements.
Digital bundle format
The pack is a ZIP download containing five fillable PDFs. You can use the preparation and review sheets together without treating every conversation as a formal personnel matter.
